Need more than a webpage?
The website comes first - that's the foothold. But some problems a page alone can't fix. Here are the ones I hear most from small businesses, and what we can do about each one.
Get more work
-
"When somebody looks me up on Google, what they find is wrong."
Wrong hours, an old category, no photos, half your services missing - or a listing you've never even claimed. For a lot of small businesses that Google listing does more work than the website does, and fixing it is a one-time job: categories, services, hours, photos, service area, and a link to your site. I do it once, properly, and it's done.
-
"Every quote starts with phone tag."
A quote page fixes that. Customers describe the job and send photos right from their phone, it lands in your email, and you call back with a number. Want fewer tire-kickers? We can ask a little more up front - job type, town, timeline, budget range - so the leads that reach you are the ones worth driving to.
-
"Most of my work is word of mouth."
Then let's make passing your name along easy. A simple "refer a neighbor" page and a card with a code for the truck or the invoice, so a happy customer can hand you off without you having to ask for it. For a lot of trades that's worth more than any advertising.
-
"My work is better than my review count."
Most happy customers would leave a review - nobody ever makes it easy. I set up your direct Google review link, a card for the counter or the truck with a code that opens the five-star box in one tap, and a page on your site that does the same. Every customer gets asked, the honest way.
-
"I want more work from the next town over."
A page for each town or county you serve. Every service you offer in every town you cover is another search Google can match you to - so the folks one town over find you the way your neighbors already do.
-
"Honestly? I just want more calls."
Ads and lead generation aren't what I sell - I build what the leads land on. But I know someone good who does that work all day, and if it's what your business needs, I'll introduce you. No markup, no middleman - just a name I trust.
Stop losing the calls you get
-
"The phone rings while I'm up a ladder."
Missed calls are missed jobs. The simplest fix: when a call goes unanswered, the caller gets a text back within seconds - "Sorry we missed you, tell us what you need and we'll call right back" - and they can answer by text while you finish what you're doing. If you need more than that, there are services that answer the phone properly after hours. Either way I set it up, and you pay the service directly - no markup from me.
-
"Scheduling eats the whole day."
For appointment businesses - grooming, barbers, studios - I can connect online booking to your site so customers book themselves, day or night. You pay the booking service directly; I wire it up and make it look like it belongs.
-
"I answer the same five questions all day."
How far do you travel, is the estimate free, do you haul off the old material, what's the smallest job you take, do you do emergencies. A straight-answers page handles those before the phone rings, and the calls you do get are further along.
Look like what you are
-
"My best work lives in my camera roll."
A proper gallery page - finished jobs, before-and-after pairs, the projects you'd want every new customer to see. And the part that matters: you text me photos from the job, I keep it current. No uploading, no logging in.
-
"My email address doesn't match my business."
Once you own the domain - and the build includes one - you can have james@yourbusiness.com instead of the address you set up in 2003. Small thing, but customers notice it on every estimate you send.
-
"Getting a deposit is more trouble than it's worth."
If you already take cards, I can put a pay-your-deposit or pay-your-invoice button right on the site, connected to whatever you already use. The money goes straight to your account - it never touches mine. Same goes for financing: if you offer it, it should be one tap away instead of a conversation.
Run it a little smoother
-
"I need to hire more than I need customers."
A "Work With Us" page - what you're looking for, what it pays, what it takes - and an application that lands in your email. A lot of good outfits are held back by hiring, not by leads, and almost nobody puts this on their site.
-
"My customers need me once a year and forget."
Tune-ups, pumping, termite renewals, inspections, annual service. There are simple services that text or email your customers when they're due - your own list, coming back on its own. I set it up; you pay the service directly.
-
"Getting a signed contract back takes a week."
If your customers have to print your paperwork, sign it, scan it and email it back, a lot of them just don't - and the job sits. Your agreements, waivers and estimates can go out as a link they sign on their phone in a minute. I set your documents up; you pay the signing service directly.
-
"My problem is something a page can't fix."
Tell me about it anyway. Sometimes the answer is a small custom tool - a job-photo report your customers can see, a simple approval flow, something built for exactly how you work. If I can build it, I'll quote it plainly. If it's beyond me, I'll say so and point you somewhere honest.
The same rules always apply
Everything above is a plain, one-time price, quoted before any work starts. The monthly stays $90 - nothing here ever gets snuck into it.
Some of these I build myself. Others are services that already exist and do the job well, and I just set them up and connect them to your site - you pay those directly, at their price, with nothing added on top. I'll always tell you which is which.
And none of it is required. Plenty of businesses only ever need the site - that's why it's built to stand on its own.
If I don't pick up, I'm on the other line - leave a message and I'll call you back the same day.
